One of the goals of the Alabama Butterbean Festival is to create a positive childhood memory for the children who attend the festival. One way we do that is by hosting a parade where the children are the stars of the event.

The 2010 Food Giantís Childrenís Parade will begin at 10AM on Saturday, September 4th. Children who are interested in participating in the parade are asked to meet at the southern-most end of the festival on Pinson Main Street. The parade will start there and will commence up Main Street through the Arts & Craft Market, concluding at Pinson Triangle Park.

The parade is open to any child and there is no charge to participate. Children participating in the parade are encouraged to wear their favorite outfit and have a good time. They may ride their nonmotorized vehicles, pull their little red wagons, or just walk in the parade. One parent/guardian is allowed to walk in the parade with their children. Remember this is a parade for and about the CHILDREN.

Festival attendees who are adults or children not walking in the parade are asked to participate in the parade by moving to each side of the street during the parade and allow the parade to proceed down the middle of the street.

In order for a child to participate in the parade, a release of liability and waiver must be given to the volunteers registering participants for the parade prior to the child or parent participating.
